AUGUST MEETING
The August board meeting was held on Monday the 17th at the field. The minutes of the last meeting presented by Brandy Bisi and the treasurers report were accepted by the board. All programs were reviewed. Rod Bisi reported that he held a meeting with the Junior Legion coaches and they addressed several problems that happened during the season and changes will be made for the 2010 season. The Girls softball program was very successful with no problems and looking good for next year.
MAJOR BANQUET
The 2009 major banguet was held on Sunday, August 2nd in the Derry community center. Over 225 attended this year and enjoyed a superb buffet style dinner served by Longs catering. Trophies were presented to the Grand Champion Oriole players by manager Rich Zemba, regular season second place Cardinals by manager Tim Wege and play-off runner-up Athletics by manage Phil Westerbeck. Trophies were also presented to the 12U All-star team by manager Boomer Gray and the 10U all-stars by manager Tim Wege. Individual awards were presented by VP Eric Tepper - Home run award - Tyler Hantz and Cam Gerhard, Good sport award - Jacob Zemba, Most improved veteran award - Trey Friedline, Rookie of the year award - Damon Hamacher, Pitching award - Dan Bisi. Every player in attendance received a door prize and the adults took their chances to win gift packages and a 50/50. Ron Hamacher, on behalf of the organization, presented Jim Meloy and "Mac" McKinney with several gift cards as they were recognized for their many years of sevice. Both Jim and Mac are retiring after this year.
